Our Materials

When you shop with us, we want you to feel every bit as special as you are. That's why we use only the best materials; chosen for their quality and sustainability.

Recycled Gold & Sterling Silver

Dione Fine Jewellery prides itself on using only the finest materials in the production of all of our pieces. Pieces are lovingly handcrafted using 100% recycled sterling silver and gold.

Pieces that are cast from wax also use 100% recycled sterling silver and, wherever possible, Fairtrade solid gold.

Fairtrade Gold

Wherever possible, we use Fairtrade Gold in the production of our pieces. Fairtrade gold supports small-scale mines to receive fair payment, both financially and in terms of their health and safety, for their hard work. It also protects the environment All Fairtrade Gold is sourced from mine sites that meet the Fairtrade Gold Standard; a globally recognised marker of best practice.

Gold Vermeil

We also use gold vermeil for some of our pieces. We introduced gold vermeil, pronounced 'ver-may', into our collection to offer an affordable alternative to solid gold without compromising on quality. We use gold of at least 2.5 microns, layered on top of 100% recycled sterling silver, to craft all of our gold vermeil pieces.

Gemstones

Where gemstones are used in our pieces, they are ethically sourced using trusted suppliers. We endeavour to use the highest-quality gemstones available to us, whilst ensuring that our customers are always offered affordable prices.

Diamonds used in our pieces are always conflict free and are sourced from our trusted suppliers.

We have introduced lab-grown diamonds into our collections, which are conflict-free and fully traceable. We also use, wherever possible, recycled diamonds, so as to reduce the demand for diamond mining. Where new diamonds are sourced, they are always conflict free and sourced from our trusted UK-based suppliers. We love using grey, 'salt and pepper diamonds' in our pieces, which were once regarded as a by-product of the diamond industry, but which are now regarded as incredibly special due to their distinctive markings and unique appearance.

Hallmarking

In accordance with the 1973 Hallmarking Act, all solid gold pieces weighing more than 1 gram and silver pieces weighing more than 7.78 grams are hallmarked by the London Assay Office.

How something looks is just as important as where it has come from and the impact that its creation has. Our hope is that our creations will leave the world a more beautiful place. We rigorously source our materials so that any purchase made with us is one that you can feel truly good about.

With all of my love, always,

Caitie xxx
